The WRC&D Response to Covid-19

April 7, 2020

Our office is closed, but our work continues.

The Washington RC&D is committed to the health and well-being of our employees and the communities we live in, work in, and support throughout Washington.

During our fight of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Washington RC&D will follow the “Stay Home and Stay Health” order from the State of Washington.

So far, our part in flattening the curve involves:

Closing our office to the public and having all employees work from home.

We increased our capacity to work with you on line.  The Washington RC&D has purchased a 10 license Zoom account so all of our employees can create and facilitate on-line video meetings.

We have postponed  in person events and meetings- or moved them to Zoom.

  • The Fire in the Shrub Steppe Workshop is postponed until October 29th and 30th.

  • The NE Washington TREX is postponed until spring of 2021

  • Our Wildfire Social Marketing Campaign is postponed until the fall of 2020.

All meetings that can be held via Zoom have been moved to that platform.

This includes:

  • WRC&D Board Meetings and Staff Meetings.

  • YTAHP Core Team Meetings

  • Climate Innovation Lab meetings

  • Washington Fire Adapted Communities Learning Network On-boarding work shop

  • Kittitas Fire Adapted Communities Coalition meetings and Tapash Sustainable Forest Collaborative related meetings.

Our work is valuable to the communities in Washington State and we are grateful to have the opportunity to continue it while at the same time we adapte to the needs of our local and global communities.
